The Rwandan Government has invested extensively in education as part of its strategic plan, known as Vision 20/20, which aims to see Rwanda become a middle-income nation by the year 2020.
Scholars are expected to teach undergraduate courses in any of the following applied fields: mechanical engineering; industrial or atmospheric chemistry; software and linear programming, information communication technology or commerce; quantum, nuclei, quantum mechanics and computational physics; or parasitology in biology. The scholar will also assist in curriculum and staff development and conduct research in an area of specialization.
Eligibility: Open to academics and appropriately qualified professionals outside of academia. Scholars with a Ph.D. and at least three years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred.
Key dates: Applications are typically due in August.
Duration: 6-10 months.
