U.S undergraduate students can apply for the Boren Scholarships to learn a foreign language and study abroad (in any country outside of USA, Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.) Applications can be made for a summer program (minimum 8 weeks; for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – STEM students only), a semester or a full academic year. All students are expected to have a significant language component as part of their proposed study abroad. In exchange for the scholarship funding, selected candidates must agree to the NSEP Service Requirement.
